We are seeking an experienced and reliable Yard Man to support the day-to-day running of a busy construction/civils yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient yard environment, supporting plant, materials, and logistics operations. A background in plant or construction equipment is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities

Managing the day-to-day organisation of the yard

Loading and unloading materials, plant, and equipment

Carrying out basic checks on plant and equipment (visual inspections)

Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and compliant with health & safety standards

Assisting with stock control, deliveries, and collections

Supporting drivers, plant operators, and site teams as required

Reporting any defects, damages, or safety concerns to management

Ensuring correct storage of materials and equipment
Skills & Experience
-
Previous experience working in a construction, civils, plant, or industrial yard environment

Plant or machinery knowledge/background (advantageous but not essential)

Good awareness of health & safety practices

Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Strong work ethic with a proactive and flexible approach

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Qualifications (Desirable but Not Essential)

CSCS Card
-
CPCS / NPORS (Plant or lifting equipment)

Forklift or telehandler ticket

Full UK Driving Licence
