Hours: 07:00 – 17:00

Tickets Required:

• SMSTS or IOSHH 5-Day Construction Management (Essential)

• Temporary Works Supervisor (Essential)

• First Aid (Ideally)

• Confined Spaces – Medium Risk (Desirable but not essential)

• Strong IT skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. (Essential)

Foundation Personnel are currently looking for a Site Agent in Newton Abbot, Devon, to work on a complex heavy civils and tunnelling-related scheme. This role is on behalf of a specialist contractor well known for delivering technically challenging underground and civil engineering projects across the UK, with a strong emphasis on safety, planning, and operational control.

You will be responsible for managing daily site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and quality requirements, while acting as a key point of contact between site teams, management, and the client.

Duties Will Include:

• Preparing, reviewing, updating, and briefing RAMS

• Delivering morning task briefings and toolbox talks

• Carrying out site safety and environmental audits

• Maintaining comprehensive site records, including diaries and QA documentation

• Monitoring programme progress and producing 2-week lookahead programmes

• Managing materials control, ensuring timely delivery to site

• Overseeing plant controls, including weekly plant lists and off-hire coordination

• Conducting site walks (minimum twice daily) to monitor safety and progress

• Daily liaison with the client and reporting any issues

• Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager

• Daily coordination with the Site Foreman to resolve operational needs

• Checking and signing off temporary works

• Taking, logging, and downloading progress and issue photographs

Requirements:

• Valid SMSTS or IOSHH 5-Day Construction Management

• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification

• Strong background in heavy civils, ideally tunnelling or underground works

• Confident communicator with strong leadership skills

• High level of organisation and attention to detail

• Computer literate with experience in site documentation and reporting

• Ability to manage multiple site priorities under pressure
