Position: Heavy Plant Fitter
Location: Scunthorpe
Hours: 40 + hours a week
Duration: Permanent Role(PAYE)
Salary or Pay Rate: Competitive / Negotiable
Requirements: NVQ and or City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance or equivalents. Full UK Drivers License.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join our team. This role involves the maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy plant machinery, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with experience working on excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, and other heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on heavy plant machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Conduct pre-planned maintenance to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance work is completed to company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and machine history.
- Work on-site and in the workshop, depending on operational needs.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide support and guidance to operators regarding machine care and basic troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter or similar role.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license (HGV license advantageous).
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work overtime and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.
