Foundation Personnel are recruiting for an Appointed Person with heavy lifting experience,

Position Title: Appointed Person – Heavy Lift
Location: Hinkley
Start Date: 30th March 
Salary Range: £60,000

Job Description: 

  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients, ensuring project requirements are clearly understood and delivered.

  • Develop engineering solutions for complex heavy lift and transportation operations.

  • Produce and review method statements, lift plans and engineering documentation.

  • Prepare drawings, calculations, visualisations and technical manuals to support project delivery.

  • Develop risk assessments and technical documentation to ensure safe execution of works.

  • Maintain high standards of document control and technical quality throughout the lifecycle of each project.

  • Support planning and engineering of:

    • Heavy crane lifting operations

    • SPMT and modular transport movements

    • Barge load-outs and load-ins

    • Jack and skid installations

    • Hydraulic gantry installations

  • Attend site visits and project meetings to assess client requirements.

  • Provide on-site engineering support during critical operations, helping manage and motivate project teams.

  • Ensure all lifting and transport activities are delivered with a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as an Appointed Person within heavy lift or lifting operations.

  • Appointed Person CSCS Card (required).

  • Strong knowledge of SPMT operations, modular transport and heavy lift crane operations.

  • Experience planning or supporting:

    • Marine transportation

    • Barge load-outs / load-ins

    • Jack and skid systems

    • Hydraulic gantries

  • Ability to produce technical documentation including calculations, drawings and lift plans.

  • Experience working on large infrastructure, energy or industrial projects.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with clients and operational teams.

  • Excellent understanding of health and safety within heavy lift operations.

Interview Process:

  • Initial Technical Assessment

  • Stage 1 Interview – Engineering & technical discussion

  • Stage 2 Interview – Final interview with senior management
