Position: Dump Truck – Rigid Chassis – All Sizes (Tracked) operator
Location: Leiston, Suffolk
Hours: 10 hours minimum paid
Duration: Long Term
Pay Rate: £22 per hour plus £100 travel plus £50.65 lodge (dependent on candidates’ location)
Foundation Personnel are looking for Rigid Tracked Dump Truck Operators for a long term project in Leiston, Suffolk.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Operating the Dump Truck
- Driving and maneuvering the rigid chassis dump truck safely across various terrains.
- Transporting materials such as soil, rocks, sand, and gravel to designated locations.
- Using tracked capabilities to navigate rough, uneven, or muddy terrain.
2. Loading & Unloading
- Ensuring the truck is properly positioned for loading by excavators, loaders, or conveyors.
- Safely dumping materials at designated sites while maintaining stability.
- Checking weight distribution to avoid overloading or tipping hazards.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Following site safety procedures, traffic management plans, and load capacity regulations.
- Conducting pre-operational checks, including brakes, hydraulics, and tires/tracks.
- Wearing appropriate PPE and ensuring the truck's warning signals and lights are functional.
4. Maintenance & Inspections
- Performing daily vehicle inspections and reporting any faults or damages.
- Checking oil levels, hydraulic systems, and tire/track conditions.
- Keeping the truck clean and free from excess debris to maintain operational efficiency.
5. Communication & Coordination
- Working closely with site supervisors, spotters, and other operators to ensure smooth operations.
- Using radios, hand signals, or other communication methods to follow loading/unloading instructions.
- Reporting any site hazards, incidents, or vehicle malfunctions immediately.
